A question about hair loss treatments?

I’m 18 and showing signs of hair loss, my dad has a large bald spot and I can tell I’m heading in the same direction.
I want to know, because of my age and the fact that my hair loss is only very mild at this point, would treatments such as Herbal-H http://www.herbal-h.com/ and HairMax Lasercomb http://www.hairmax.com/ be more effective at preventing any further loss, along with possible regrowth?

I’ve been worrying about this for ages and I really want to stop it as it is such a drain on my self confidence. Help, anyone?
That didn’t really answer the question, I want to know if because I’ve caught onto it fairly early there’s a better chance of stopping and reversing it. I’m not too keen on Propecia, it sounds like there’s too many risky side effects to it.
