Can hair loss be reversed from excess carbohydrate consumption?

Question by Matt: Can hair loss be reversed from excess carbohydrate consumption?
When you eat too many refined carbohydrates, you body takes an insulin hit. This can cause hair to weaken and fall out, which is my case.

Does anyone know if hair loss from insulin spikes (from processed carbs) can be reversed though diet and exercise? My hair has really thinned out, and my hairline is starting to recede. I know it could be genetics, but I have a strong feeling that it’s from my poor diet.

I don’t know, but hair loss could be a sign of something serious. I say go see a doctor.

Umm, short answer NO. The only proven method to reverse hair loss are: propecia (rx drug), dutasteride (rx drug), and rogaine. If youre really curious about this – http://www.hairlosstalk.com is a good place to start. Additionally, if youre interested in natural cures (which do have some validity) visit – http://www.earthclinic.com theres some interesting stuff on there too.

Poor diet is definitely one cause of hair loss. Stress and anxiety is another big one. The actual main reason is a build up of DHT (dihydrotestosterone).

There are natural DHT blockers available like Saw Palmetto. But to really reverse hair loss you need to lower the DHT level on your scalp and use a product with Minoxidil in it.

Provillus is a popular one and they have a lot more information on their website about hair loss. You might check it out. They give away free trials too.
