Could this work as a possible treatment for clip induced alopecia?

Hey Everyone,

I am looking for someone with maybe some grooming experience or someone that is familiar with the product I am talking about.

My poor Pomeranian’s coat has been completely compromised by a too short buzz cut resulting in what I have heard refered to as “clip alopecia”. Basically, his whole mid section has nothing but VERY short, frizzy fur and numerous bald spots. His coat is not growing back. It has been over a year now and this is as good as its going to get for him at this point.

I have been trying to find out if there is any way of reversing the damage and possibly get his coat to grow back even if it never gets as beautiful as it was prior to the clipping incident. In my searching I came across something called Megatek by Eqyss. I have never seen this before or heard of it prior to now but from what I am reading, it seems to be a fairly successful product used for coat restoration and rebuilding in animals. Supposedly it stimulates hair regrowth and works well on bald spots and all that. My question is, has anyone ever tried this on their dog and does it really work? And could this possibly work to help reverse the damage from the bad hair cut for my Pom or would it not work for a problem of this nature?

Thanks in advance!

I’m a groomer and have heard that the coat may come back after a couple of years if it isn’t cut again. I had a customer that wanted only an inch taken off, leaving about an inch and I didn’t think it would be a problem but it eventually was. He lost his primary coat and was left with the fuzzy undercoat. His owner became very ill and I don’t know what happened to her or the dog.

Eqyss has a pretty good reputation. I’d go for it. You have nothing to lose.

I practically make customers that want their double-coated breeds shaved down sign in blood that they understand that the coat may not come back properly. I really hate having to do it.

Most hair loss is NOT genetic. The reason most of you reading this are losing hair is because your hair follicles are trapped and blocked off from vital blood supplies that are needed to nourish their development. Your hair is literally being starved to death.

Solve that and most, if not all, of your lost hair will come back. By addressing and eliminating the causes, NOT the symptoms of hair loss — You can expect your hair to come back for you.
