Does breakage from having hair bleached mean that I’ll have to go back to my natural color?

I’ve been bleaching my hair blonde since July.Last night, a friend pointed out that I had breakage and to stop bleaching my hair and to go back to my natural hair color. But the thing is that, for a month I haven’t been using the conditioning treatment that I’d usually use because it hasn’t been on sale and was at a price that I couldn’t afford unless I didn’t want to eat, take my medication,ETC.But just this week I started using this treatment again.Could not having this conditioning treatment be the cause for this breakage?
But the main thing that I’m asking is that: when your bleached hair becomes damaged, do you have to go back to your natural hair color? Is is there something you can do to remain blonde without going bald? I DO NOT wanna go back to my natural haircolor!! I hate it so badly, feel totally ugly with it and have grew up hating myself.I cried myself to sleep last night at the thought of having to go back to the old color. If I have to go back, I’ll feel as if the world has ended and I’ll fall into a deep depression.
And another thing, if I just bleach the roots every 2 or 3 months to touch up the regrowth, how dangerous would this be?

Do not ever bleach your hair unless it is totally healthy. And if you still want to bleach your hair, then just do the roots and then tone the rest of your hair each month
Check the ingredients of the conditioners you are using. If it’s a “super protein” conditioner, that could be the culprit.
It sounds like the cuticle of the hair is swollen and dried out, so i would reccomend a moisturizing conditioner rather than a protein conditioner.
You don’t have to go back to your natural color, you just need to treat the existing problem. So if it’s really dry and dull, use hot oil (olive oil works great and you don’t have to spend a bunch of $$$ on some fancy sonditioner that is basically olive oil anyway) and try to not wash it every day. Every two or three days will be fine.
Stay away from any styling products that have harsh chemicals in them for a while. Check the ingredients on your shampoo. If you see a lot of wheat protein, or any protein, look for a new shampoo that says “moisture” in giant letters. Thats the one you will want.
At home you can use Vit E oil, rose geranium and if your nose can handle it a little bit of patchouli oil is a gread remedy.
What you are essentially trying to do is rehydrate the hair, so dyeing over it would be contraindicated anyway, in my opinion. Just continue touching up your roots and look at your products and make the appropriate switches.
some of my clients swear by that “wen” shampoo they sell online. I have no issues with it other than not knowing a whole lot about it but I have seen it work well in re-structuring the hair shaft to be a bit stronger.
Also – this may sound weird- pre-natal vitamins are great for adding strength to the hair.
Wrap up: wash less, condition with moisture not protein, treat it at home with hot oit and be good to it (don’t throw any more color on anything but the roots). Some may say to put a “clear gloss” over it all but that’s just more chemicals; I’d steer clear of any more chemicals and build up the strength of your hair by keeping it hydrated.
I hope this made sense and I send you nothing but the best, I hope it works out as you wish. I guess the upside is that you do not have to dye it back to your own color, as that would be more chemical and it wouldn’t serve the purpose you need. And remember to be kind to yourself, OK? It’s only haircolor. You are a vital human being and you are so much more than the color of your hair. The stress and worry only causes more damage!
Good Luck!
This is what happens when you bleach your own hair. You need to get it done professionally. It sounds like money is an issue, so start figuring out ways that you can save money by cutting out unnecesary expenditures. Damaged hair looks awful no matter what color it is (I know because it’s happened to me).
Also, you need to get some counseling if you can because you should not hate yourself or “fall into a deep depression.” That is your real problem – not the hair. If you are not working, find a full or part time job – that will make you feel better about yourself. Also, if you don’t exercise you should start because you will increase your endorphins which will make you feel better.
This is similar to people who are anorexic who look in a mirror and feel they look fat when everyone else thinks they are extremely dangerously skinny. You say you feel “totally ugly” and hate yourself when you hair is its natural color. Those are extremely negative feelings to have in relation to your hair color. The truth is that its not your hair color that is causing these feelings. You have underlying issues you need to deal with and when you do, you will like yourself and be happy regardless of your hair color.
