I feel the same way, you don’t have to go broke.
I can understand the frustration of going natural and trying to find products to restore the health of my hair. Sometimes I feel that it’s too late for my hair because i’m 24 and I been natural for a year and I feel like I’m stilling learning how to take care of my hair. Right now, I been using Dr. Bronner’s conditioning rinse as a co-wash weekly and castor oil as my leave in conditioner. So far, it’s working. I feel empowered, being natural.
I kinky curly because it is the only product that doesn’t itch my scalp. It has no chemicals, i.e., alcohol, dimethicone, silicone, mineral oil, and no parabens. My scalp started to itch really, really bad when I was wearing the perm, so I cut it all off, and I am completely happy with my TWA and the KC products.
I am natural and I buy and use 100% Pure Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Lavender Oil, Rosemary Oil & Tea Tree Oil…I mix those 5 oils in an applicator bottle and use them whenever my hair needs to be done and needs replenishing and they do not cost me much..AND THAT IS ALL I USE. I DO NOT BUY hair creams and all that jazz…the only factory produced products I buy are shampoo and conditioner to wash my hair when the time comes. To me it seems yall are being ripped off..I keep it very simple with oils
Wisdom!…
Most ppl r programmed 2 hear herbal, oils, etc & think “GOOD”.Many of the ingred can be purch at natural stores/on-line in large bottles that could last u 6m-1yr! but truthfully many LIKE the time & focus they spend being “natural”. Worry abt what SHOULDNT be in ur hair products(sulfates, cones, parabens,petro..ect) & if u want extra herbs/oils, buy a few bottles that u like (jojoba, avacado, coconut, hemp, etc)& add things 2 ur condish&styling products & LEARN works 4 YOUR hair.U dont have 2 go broke
how do you know what is good for your hair my hair is dried and damaged sigh this is hard
I completely agree. Going natural shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg. Carol’s daughter and Kinky Curly are too expensive. That’s why we need to make our own products.
Sooooooo glad you did this video! I have bottles of SEVERAL different oils since being newly natural and the cost at the end of the day is NOT cheap. Hopefully others see this in time before going on an oil/product shopping spree on amazon!
hi, new to youtube here and i was wondering how you feel about interracial dating. are white guys ok for you? sorry, i know this is off your subject, however, i would really like to know more about black and multiracial womens’ opinions on this. thank you. by the way…do not change your hair, it looks great.
LOL! I like you. and I agree
While I was doing my trial and error hair product purchasing, I purchased items from places where I could return them if I didn’t like them. Now I’ve found my staple products and I don’t have to break my bank. I do have shea butter and coconut oil simply because my hair LOVES those products, but I don’t have buy them often (maybe twice a year), so yeah, you’re right. You don’t have to go broke to go natural.
I have about 5 products I use. Shea Butter (once every week to stretch), Shampoo (every 2 weeks), Rinse-out conditioner (once a week), Leave in (make it-mixing stretches the product too), and hair lotion (daily). I might spend 60 bucks every other month. Less than I used to spend on fast food and it all goes on my grocery list. I don’t buy clays, hennas, proteins tmts, and masks, too scared.
@whatchulookingatshaw
Mist it with a oil and water mixture. You want it to elastic so you can stretch it to unravel without it breaking. At least thats what I do. I got that tech from mummy:). Go slow too, seduce your hair!
Question .. If you don’t comb when dry .. how do you detangle ???
Finally someone says it ! I was overwhelmed with all the products these women on youtube use. I too was close to broke
. I am however still trying to figure out my own hair regimen. Enlightening.
P.S. What island younna from?
Does this shampoo cleanse your hair of build up of products, if not can you reccomend one that does?
Ok u save me a good tip “don’t comb hair when its dry” thanks!
Girl……thanks for this. I so feel you. I went thru a phase as well…….my natural hair “journey” is mainly for my daughters. I needed some help managing my 4yo hair. washing and combing was like torture (for both of us!). Since I have somewhat of regimen and picked up techniques it has become so much more pleasant. I want to say that the one thing I MUST have is virgin coconut oil. that and water I would be good!
I have been using Bio Infusion Nautral and Bio Infusion Professional for three years now. I use Rosemary Mint shampoo and conditioner. Walgreens sales it for $14.99 but has it on sale once a month for $9.99. The ingredients listed on Bio Infusion Natural and Professional shampoo are EXACTLY the same. This shampoo and conditioner leaves my natural hair soft and healthy. Check out the ingredients, they are better for your hair than Carols Daughters shampoos and they smell just as good.
lol i love your logic to this alot of naturalista lasdies think they need to buy such and such products because everybody is saying to do so

Girl use you some good ‘ol Philips Milk Of Magnesia as your primer. I dab will do ya!
When trying a new skin product a breakout is the way of the impurities coming to the surface. This usually happens after a facial. Alot of people stop using the product thinking it is breaking them out when it is actually working.
ooo please tell me where did you find that head scarf?? its
beautiful
I use the Monistat chafing gel for my primer. It’s less than $7 at most places and it works just as well as the Smashbox
