Hi, unfortunately, you will have to be patient for a while and let it grow. To help it grow and stay healthy, be gentle with it by limiting heat styling and any hair style that may cause breakage so you don’t have to trim it too frequently. Also keep the ends conditioned to help prevent split ends and breakage.

Hi Nancy, one of the side effects of going on the pill can be hair loss. The pill causes a shift in your hormones and since hormones control hair growth it can be affected. Please know that 50 hairs a day is not abnormal, in fact it is well below average.
Hi there, I have been losing hair since April and I find it mainly in the bathroom but even though it’s only about 50 or so hairs a day it is a lot mire than usual and my hair feels very thin and sift. I am 53 and have been kn the pill for 1 yr now since HRT doesn’t agree. Can it still be menopause even though I’m on the pill? I might go for a thyroid test, if it is thyroid will it grow back with proper meds? Thsnkyou in advance Nancy
Hi, as long as it is not pulling on your hair, it should be o.k. If you feel that it puts tension on your roots, then I would avoid them. Keratin in the protein found in your hair and it is the latest craze for treatments. My recommendation if you want to do a protein treatment for your hair is to use egg. It’s natural and works great – no chemicals. Please go to my blogspot for a great recipe.

Hi,
I am wondering whether clip-in hair extensions could also cause hair fallout. I have been trying to grow out my hair but I occasionally wear extensions. Also, would you recommend getting a keratin treatment for healthier hair?Thanks so much , I love your videos
@YouTips4U Thank you!
Hi, hair growth patterns is genetically determined and also affected by lifestyle. So both come into play.
Hi, you hair can thin due to breakage if your hair is dry as well. Having a dry scalp will not cause hair to thin or it to fall out. I recommend that you use a moisturizing conditioner for your hair and massage your scalp with jojoba oil to help relieve the dryness and itching.
Hi,
Hair length is genetically pre-determined, correct? Say for example one person can grow hair to their waist, while another person can only grow their hair shoulder length. Would you agree?
Can your hair thin/not grow/fall out if your scalp is dried and you itch it a lot?
Hi, you want to create some volume to cover up the thinning. You can do this first by getting a cut that layers your hair in the crown area as with layered bangs or you can have long bangs. Also, blow dry your hair upside down to enhance volume. You may also want to consider getting highlights. Highlights create volume because they cause the hair shaft to swell. Speak to your stylist and tell him/her what you are trying to achieve. They can be very effectively placed for enhanced volume.
@akamissrubytuesday “”trim your ends every 6 weeks to keep your hair healthy.”"
In an earlier statement on this very thread, you said this which perpetuates that myth of hair’s health is dependent upon keeping the ends trimmed when it really isn’t. This is what I’m talking about. Trimming ends merely makes hair look neater and maintains a style it has nothing to do with making hair healthy. It’s only for appearance.I really wish stylist would clarify this and stop telling this lie.
@akamissrubytuesday “I have NEVER told a client to cut their hair to make it grow faster…”
That’s great the you don’t tell your clients that lie. I’ve had many stylist who spout that nonsense ad nauseum like you won’t believe. They repeat it like it’s the unvarnished truth. Or worse, they’ll just start cutting the hair without even asking the client’s permission. They don’t know if the client is trying to grow the hair out or anything. They just start ‘trimming’ but really ‘cutting’.
@nancydrew5 I have NEVER told a client to cut their hair to make it grow faster… I’ve always known that blood circulation IS the ONLY thing that stimulates hair growth. Just like retards that believe shaving will cause their hair to grow back thicker. NOT TRUE- Hair grows according to your health- & your family genes. The only reason to trim your ends is to maintain the style you have & to keep it from looking destroyed after use of styling tools. -
@akamissrubytuesday
The problem is hairstylist who tell clients that they ‘NEED” to trim their ends in order for their hair to grow and that’s an outright lie! As Youtips says, hair doesn’t grow from the end, it’s dead once it shoots out of the scalp so logically how can cutting off dead hair cause it to grow? It’s just a myth to get clients in a beauty salon chair. Hair stylist cut too many clients hair unecessarily all in the name of ‘trimming ends’ split ends aren’t that bad.
@akamissrubytuesday “he reason I tell my clients to do it every 6 weeks- is to maintain the style they have & to remove the split ends they aquire from excessive blow drying.”
Again this trimming as you yourself pointed out is to maintain the hair style, to maintain the hair’s ‘neat appearance.’ None of which has anything to do with the health and growth of hair. If you want to maintain your hair cut/style then trim the ends, if you want to grow length leave the ends alone.
i started to loose so much hair and i didnt know why…….but i think it was bcos when i bath,i use a really warm water so then i started to use cold water and i started to recieve less hair fall
@nancydrew5 – I’ve been doing hair for over 35 years & I trim my ends every 4 weeks- the reason I tell my clients to do it every 6 weeks- is to maintain the style they have & to remove the split ends they aquire from excessive blow drying. Example- most people who complain of headaches don’t realize the direct connection to the hair bulb- & generally have greasy nasty hair caused by lack of shampooing & the inability for the oil to drop off the hair- due to the accumulation of split ends.
@akamissrubytuesday “trim your ends every 6 weeks to keep your hair healthy.”
Trimming your hair is an urban legend perpetuated by hair care industry to keep clients coming back regularly. hair doesn’t have to be trimmed every 6 weeks to grow. I deliberately told my stylist to ‘stop trimming’ my hair and voila it grows and is healthy and is just fine. Hair trimming gives the ‘appearance of neatness, just like trimming a hedge, but it’s not necessary. In fact if you want length don’t trim.
yes- hair loss can be due to many factors… but- hair growth is only due to ONE factor… blood circulation. There is NO product that will make your hair grow… but- the act of rubbing -massaging your scalp, brushing your hair, shampooing EVERYDAY- increases blood flow & your hair grows. (your hair is dead the minute you can see it on your head- the hair bulb is below the scalp) Bottomline- Eat Right- Don’t take drugs- shampoo daily & trim your ends every 6 weeks to keep your hair healthy.
@xxxalefxxx Check your thyroid. Eyebrows fall out due to a thyroid issue. My cousin has the same problem.
