YES!! lol i have been doing chemo on and off now for 4 years. chronic myeloid leukemia, phase III. the first time I lost my hair, i noticed it would start growing back in patches, I had to keep my head shaved, didn’t care about the arm hair. one thing it didn’t affect much was my moustache, all it did was give it a grey streak.

    I did.

    I was on a 28 day cycle.

Hair loss occured at about day 10-12.

Regrowth started about day 25, so I lost about 14 days growth each time.

On one occasion (first regrowth) it tended to ingrow and I ended up with tender, zitty scalp – daily massage as if washing hair stopped recurrance of that.

I did. I had little fuzzy hairs that would grow between treatments. I kept buzzing them off so things felt even up there.

When your hair grows back for good after the treatments, you might have a different type of hair. I have dark brown hair and it came back the same color, but it’s curly now (it used to be very straight). I’ve heard of other people’s hair coming back all one color again and them losing their grays. I wasn’t that lucky though…I still have mine. ;)

Hair will return during and after treatment. It will usually not be like it was before chemotherapy. What we did was take a picture of it growing back.

We would take a photo and date it. So we had a time record of how much would come back each week. It is all back now five months after treatment. What was once long and straight is now sort of curly. I think it is a way of showing oneself that cancer forever changed you and that you are not the same person you were before cancer.

I wish hair change was the only effect that we experienced after chemotherapy, sadly for us after five months we are still suffering from the treatments.

Wishing you the best outcome possible, and do not fear people react differently to the drugs so you may not suffer what we do and we did 27 weeks of three kinds of chemotherapy.

Not between … my first round was AC which was every 2 weeks, then Taxol was weekly.

But it started growing back about 1/2 way through the Taxol round. There were 12 Taxol treatments, and mine started back at about week 6.

I was going topless (no scarf/hat) after about 2 months. It was short, but people raved about it. It came back an almost iridescent white. The color has since returned (salt + pepper).
