Hullo, I’m at the moment about to start taking Proscar (or Finastride ?) for hair loss prevention and am a bit worried about the potential side effects, apart from decreased sexual drive, will the altering of the DHT hormones also affect my voice???
oh i forgot to mention that I’m a singer as well which explains the concern of the voice

http://www.healthsquare.com/newrx/pro1358.htm This article is helpful. Given that the usage is for benign hypertrophy of the prostate and the side effects include impotence, less ejaculate and decreased libido, are you really willing to give up sex for possible hair growth??? It may not affect your voice, but it also may not grow hair. There are other treatment modalities that are more appropriate for your needs. Discuss these options with your physician. Personally, I would rather have a hard bald man than a limp hairy man any day. Check into your options.
The lowering of the hormones is slight. Which could affect your sex drive but not enough to affect your voice.
There are also other options to consider as well. The new laser hair comb that was approved last week by the FDA. I might consider this as an alternative, if you think the side affects out weigh the benefit.
Good Luck with your singing career
