Sounds like you need Frizz Ease or Frizz Ender. They are products that you apply after shampooing and they are not oily or greasy. They make your hair shine too. Try shopping at Beautyco to find them. I use them when my hair gets really frizzy in damp weather or when my hair looks extra dry.

ps A little goes a long way, so apply sparingly.

I know you said that hair irons do not work, but if you go to the hair dressers and have your hair thinned out then it should work a little better.
Also, growing your hair longer can help. I don’t know if you currently have short hair or not but the more you do have the more it helps to weigh it down a bit.

You mentioned that you died your hair light brown although your natural colour was dark brown. I think that because your hair is already damaged and frizzy, you really ought to stray away from dying your hair at all. Especially DIY dies and even more so, lighter colours. Dying your hair a lighter colour will do a lot more damaged than dying it darker. Also when regrowth comes along, it doesn’t tend to look as bad.
I suggesting styling your hair in the best possible way to either hide your regrowth, or accentuate it as regrowth does not need to be deemed a bad thing.

You should invest in some good quality leave-in treatments. I suggest Redkin’s extreme range. Redkin is fairly affordable if you are working on a tight budget.

Also, what kind of brush are you using? You should buy a bamboo one because they are a lot kinder to your hair than hairdresser ones. NEVER brush your hair while it is wet. Your hair is very frail when it is wet and this will cause damage. If you are washing your hair when it is wet, I assume it would be because that is when it is easiest to do. However, the only reason it is easier is because your hair just breaks instead of untangling. Buying some detangling spray will not only stop hair breakage when brushing but, it will also make things A LOT easier for you.

I would not recommend super expensive treatments as they do not always work and they’re not very reliable. Also, things do not last forever and it would be disappointing to spend a lot of money on something that you watch fade away.

Are you using professional shampoo? Never buy it from the supermarket. NEVER. If you are afraid of salon prices, just remember this: The stuff you buy in salons is packed full of the good stuff only. They do not use harsh chemicals just to fill up the bottle and cut down on prices. So the difference it makes for your hair is exceptional. Also keep in mind that because it does not have “filler” ingredients, you only need to use half as much. I have a lot of hair and it is very long… and yet I only use a 10-20c AUS coin sized amount and it works just fine. I am in love with the brand Matrix. Their products are very reliable and do wonders. For you I suggest their sleek range (orange bottles). Please do not let the prices scare you away, as they will last you for a very long time. Even with all the hair I have, my bottles will last me 3 months or more.

Of course there is chemical straightening… if you a desperate you could have this done. Do not do it yourself though. Have a professional do it. However I wont go into the details of this because I do not recommend it at all. It is incredibly bad for your hair and chances are you will only experience more damage than good.

    All the best of luck.

try hair oil; it really works! put it on at nite before bed and wake up and shampoo it off. usually coconut hair oil works the best but try others to suit ur hair
