How to fix my damaged hair?

When i say damaged i mean DAMAGED. I have been dying my hair regulerly (once every couple of weeks – onces every few months depending on what mood im in) for the passed 3 yrs. Its had bits bleached out & then dyed dark again, Its had purple, pink & blue in it & just recently i tryed to dye it all over a really nice red colour. so i did a test strand (of course) where i used a 40V bleach first & then put the colour over the top. The test strand came out lovely. Exactly what i wanted. And i know your all going to think im stupid but i then bleached my whole head. As my original hair colour is naturally a very stubborn Auburn red colour a high vol poroxide is the only thing that will lighten it. so i was then blonde. straight after i put the red on. & it came out the YUCKEST colour EVER. im not sure why. the test was great. so i found a black & put that over the top & that covered it mostly. (this was all in the same night) i then brought a dark brown to cover up the patchyness & that was the yuck colour problem fixed. However, as you could imagine, my hair was left feeling VERY sorry for itself. its usually amaizingly strong when it comes to dying/ bleaching ect but this time just shocked it completely. This was about 7 weeks ago. for about 6 weeks i barely straightened it, washed it lots with repair shampoo & conditioner & it was still falling out/ breaking off. So since last week i have been using MATRIX biolage hydratherapie shampoo & conditioner along with paul mitchell super strong treatment a few times a week & a semi si lino diamante essential oil (left on for about 3 hrs) every other day. All of this does seem to be having a good effect but will this fix my hair completely???
how long before i can dye my hair again, because i have regrowth??? & if i wanted to use a colur stripper to lighten my hair would that completely wreck it??? because i want to go lighter for the summer but if itll wreck it then ill stay dark & just touch up the roots.
PLEASE HELP i have so many questions.
thanks.

Cut as much of your hair off as you can live with and STOP dying it so much…every 6 weeks MINIMUM

No, ultimately, you hair cannot be completely fixed.Your best bet at this point is to go to a salon, and ask them if they think your hair is healthy enough for another dye or even to strip it.

You need to leave your hair alone for a LONG while. I dyed my hair black once a few years ago, and had to have it stripped professionally to get it back to my natural brown, and it damaged my hair quite a bit in the process. It took several months for it to get back to a healthy state, and even then I waited quite a bit longer to dye it again.

Your damage sounds much worse. Don’t do anything to your hair – I wouldn’t even straighten it, because that will kill it, too. Not even a blow-dryer, at this point. It’s eventually all going to fall out or break off if you keep attacking it like this.

Think about it this way – if you keep breaking a bone over and over again, eventually that bone will become very brittle and fragile – a single violent knock could shatter it. It’s the same for your hair, sweetie.

The repairing shampoo is a very good idea – Infusium is also a good brand, if you wanted to try something different. And when you use conditioner, leave it in for a good two or three minutes before washing it out. This will really help heal your hair.

Leave your hair alone. DO NOT dye it again. And, if and when you eventually do start dyeing it again, do NOT do it so often. The normal span of time between dyes is supposed to be 4-6 weeks, 6 being the preferred length of time. I understand having a stubborn hair color – my dark brown can be a pain at times, and often my dyed color starts fading early – but you have to give your hair a chance to heal itself between EVERY dye, because you’re damaging it each time you do it, even if you can’t see it at the time.

You need to leave your hair alone. Cut as much of the dead hair off as you can bear to live with and just let it do its own thing. Auburn is a beautiful color, let it grow out! And definitely give it a chance to heal.

      Good luck!

u sound just like me 2 years ago! Ok first go to sallys, they have a haircare line called aphogee, its for damaged hair it really works, but this didnt happen over night and it wont get fixed overnight, so don’t give up! Anyway i get the shampoo, the keratin 2 minute reconstructor, and the hair treatment which is really messy, but it really works just make sure u read the directions and follow them! Then what i do is i blowdry and flat iron my hair, with heat protection spray, and every night i wrap my hair up in a silk scarf this helps with brekage and keeps hair nice and smooth, i also put an anti breakage cream on my ends everynight before i wrap it up! and don’t wash ur hair everyday, and do not put any lightner in your hair please!
