Dr. Diane M. Hoss, MD discusses Male Pattern Baldness and Hair Loss Information. See more at www.dermnet.com PLEASE RATE AND COMMENT!!! Male androgenetic alopecia AGA, also known as male baldness is a common condition affecting up to 50% of postpubertal men. Men with this condition experience progressive thinning of the hair on the vertex, crown and parietal areas of the scalp. There are various patterns and stages of hair loss that have been diagrammed by Hamilton and Savin. The endpoint (severity and pattern) of a man’s AGA can not be predicted. However, the earlier the onset of the condition, the more severe the thinning is likely to become.
