Hi, everyone. I haven’t abandoned you. It’s just that things are a wee bit stretched right now.

When I first took a breather from flickr, I thought I’d be gone for a few weeks or so, but it’s been about six months. Originally, I was going to take the time to work on my Uncle Bill’s letters which were written in 1943/44 while he was overseas. Instead, I got sidetracked reworking a bunch of my images for sale at Imagekind. I purchased a number of PhotoShop add-ons, and got to work reprocessing the images from the German trip that Karen and I took in 2007. I’ve also set up about 100 abstracts for sale. Haven’t uploaded them yet. It’s fun, but it’s tough. I’m going to have to work at a marketing plan. So far, I’ve been my own best customer.

There are a couple of other things going on as well. Jessica’s baby boy will arrive in July. He will be named ‘William George Barber Davison’. Mike’s dad is also named ‘Bill’, so little ‘Will’ is named after both Bill Davison and me. ‘George’ comes from Karen’s dad. I’m thrilled. Jess insists on the nickname ‘Will’, which I like a lot better than ‘Bill’.

Also, my daughter, Meg, started treatment for hepatitis C. Over the last thirty years, she’s had six bouts of open-heart surgery to mitigate a condition known as Tetralogy of Fallot, which basically means that she was born with an undeveloped pulmonary valve. A new valve has been put in every eight years or so. During a 1984 transfusion, she got some bad blood. In those days, the blood was not well-screened, and hospitals used blood from the prison population (among other questionable sources). Meg’s Hep C condition was not picked up until she had blood work done when she was pregnant with Gavin in 2005. . She self-administers one Interferon injection per week, and takes Rebetol every day. She is very exhausted and a bit feverish. There will likely be some hair loss as well. I’m at her house Sundays and Mondays (or whenever) to help with the boys.

Karen and I also look after Jess’s daughter, Charlotte, once a week. She’s quite the busy little girl. We’ll have her more often when the new baby comes along.

All this means that I won’t be up on flickr much for the foreseeable future.

I do miss you all. Take care.
