Natural Hair Journey 2 years

My hair journey from the last 2 years. I been natural since 2004 but I went to the shop on March 15th 2008 and got my hair pressed. The beautician damaged my hair beyond repair. I had to start all over. I didn’t know my hair was damaged and I got it pressed one more time on April 2nd, which is why I consider April 2nd my two year mark. I transitioned by wearing braids. And braids is my go to style when I want to protect my hair. I transitioned about 5 months then big chopped. I still had about 1 1/2 inches of straight ends that I would rod. I eventually trimmed them off.

What products did you use to moisturize your braids?
You are very beautiful!! what an inspiration!
I love your hair and the creative hairstyles you come up with. Absolutely beautiful! I recently had my big chop and I am trying to find out hair products work best with my hair type. What shampoos, conditioners, moisturizers and gels do you use on your hair?
@JaviFairground You’re asbsolutely right about people not appreciating what they have already been given, and quite truthfully, that is a damn shame.
… But as a young child I learned to embrace whatever I had and make sure I made the best out of it, which also includes my hair, so I was never really jealous of white people in particular for having “silky, flowy hair”, knowing that every person has a different hair type and that each hair type is unique and special in itself.

When I see your videos, especially this one, one can only think of the word ‘freedom’, and that’s what I want.. it’s my reason for going natural: freedom from extensions, weaves, relaxing etc etc So thank u for posting your steps.. I cant wait for my taste of ‘freedom’ through my own natural hair…

Your hair styles are the BEST Ive seen on the YT so far. Just to point out a few: The swoop braids in the front, the side braids, the color (and I am no fan of color but you rocked it out), the cornrole across the front and afro in the back,… Heck I like all of them. GREAT VIDEO!!!
I really had to ask what hair color and brand did you applied at 0:57??? I want to die my hair, but dont want to apply just anything and I really loved the color you had there….
Fave look 1:39. So regal!
I absolutely love love love your videos!! I am a new natural hair rookie and your videos have helped me tremendously!! You are beautiful and I can’t wait until my hair is healthy like yours
@wereqwere if you say so, to me that just sounds like something you were raised up to believe its not a necessity for everyone. but since this is a video about washing natural hair personally i think thats what comments should reflect but of course everyone has the freedom and right to say anything they want. I just was wondering how your comment was meant to be taken. Have a good day.
@kenasipoy Its whatever you make it to be, some people need just a little every now and then.
@wereqwere is that comment about makeup negative or positive because shes pretty without makeup so i dont see the need
I love ur hair! i dont think this would work for my hair type but it looks awesome on you! thanks for sharing

OMG, Please help me……. Did you always have your hair natural or did you start off with a big chop also? My hair is so dry. It looks nice when i put products in it>>>SOMETIMES>>>> I don’t always get it right. Trouble is, I’m a singer and i’m on stage most days of the week, when my hair dries, it really looks dry and my curls don’t look as nice, this is definitely a challenge…Awwwwh. Is there any advice you can give me. I’m using oils and shea butter and all that good stuff.
Could you please do a video on your regimen or products you use regularly? your hair looks so healthy!
Awesome! I had to share on my FB fan page!!!

You are great!!!!!!!!!! I have searched and searched everywhere for information on natural haircare products. Thank you for the conditioners and other natural home made products to keep up my natural hair. Knowing the ingredients of my hair products is a must for me. The long names and extra colors are no more now. Thanks again!

like my 5th time watchin this lol..and dancing to the music
I’ve been natural now for 6 months and I’ve been looking for a really good video on how to maintain my twist out after daily work outs. I love twist outs, but hated feeling like I to co-wash and re-twist more than often to maintain my style. I’m going to try your method after today’s workout, hopefully it’s as successful as yours. Your videos are amazing! Not too much and not too little. Keep up the good work!
wonderfull hair
how long did it take for your hair to grow this long
