I’ve noticed a horrible thinning of my hair and a receding hairline, I’m 19 years old, and I’m wondering about how much it would cost and what I can do to combat hair loss, starting right now.

There are only two FDA approved treatments right now, propecia (finasteride) and rogaine (minoxidil), however some dermatologists will proscribe Avodart (dutasteride) as an off-label cure.
Most other products don’t work, and there are many. You can get finasteride for less than $5/month right now by going to Dr. Reddy
Buy the general fina, and cut the 5mg pills into smaller doses. Any good hairloss forums will tell you the tricks. Then go to a drugstore and pick up a bottle of generic minox, 5%. Good luck.

There are some healthy shampoos out there that will slow down this process if you can not afford a dermatologist. Check the shampoo section for the formulas for men. Also check out some websites for thinning hair.
IF you live near a health food store, they have some natural remedies to try.
You could try a hair growth treatment..they sell them at places like pharmacies and even Walmart.
well one good one is not to mess with it much
dont brush it,comb it,or put gel in it.
of course there is the FDA approved stuff but that cost some money
Keep your hair clean, wash it and rinse with tepid water, not too hot , because that strips the oil out and then your head will try to produce more oil to recondition. When you get out of the shower, wrap a towel around your head to soak up extra water. DO NOT rub your head with a towel, that causes breakage which in time makes it appear that you are losing more hair than your are. DO NOT use a very hot blow dryer, same effect. Use hair thickening products, take a picture and watch the change over a few months. If your hairline is really receding, use a product from a beauty supply or hair dresser in your area. You can retard hair loss by following my advice.
