Question by togo: what causes hair loss on the back of the head?
I am a balding male but I recently I noticed bald spot on the back of the head about the size of a quarter. I thought hair would come back but I noticed that it is growing bigger. A quick online search indicated that it could be Alopecia Areata but I thought it would only cause hair loss on the top and at the crown. Is there any treatment for hair loss at the back and can it be stopped?

Definitely sounds like Alopecia Areata – an autoimmune disease. It causes bald spot that can spread to the whole scalp and sometimes even the whole body. Stress has been known to be the main cause.

For a start you can compare with the images in www.curespotbaldness.com. Following this, a skin biopsy should be carried out by a trained medical doctor or a dermatologist. This is the best way to diagnose and confirm. It will show any abnormal concentration of T-cells (immune cells) at the affected area.

My bro did the same when had this problem. However he managed to recover using a treatment he found in the website. Wish you a quick recovery
